#5. Hilary and Angela (Project Coordinator) from McMaster

  • Will eventually issue an electronic copy
  • Talked to 310 residents, they will return in 2 years with some questions
  • Report information was done in the summer of 2012

#6. Ralph – Stinson Press Club Committee Report

  • Presented the final logo and informed us of the future changes to the website.
  • Showed different aspects of logo, text and graphic, graphic colours will be green, orange and black.
  • Banner will have more detail and colours.
  • Pointed out the differences of official communication which is sanctioned and approved by SCA. Unofficial is community driven.
  • Web address will continue to be www.stinsoncommunity.ca
  • Old data has been transferred over to new site.
  • New web site will be launched on June 1.

#7. Announcements

  • Songs in the Bishop July 4th to August 22nd is good to go, just waiting to see the artist line up
  • No general SCA meeting in July and August, but room at Rec Centre is book so action group can use it in those months if needed.
  • Natasha announced that the Community Garage Sale will be held on June 8th
  • Call out for volunteers
  • To be added to the garage sale map you must register at president@stinson.ca
  • -Mike gave recap to the Team up to Clean up event. Big thank you to all Volunteers.
  • 2,2750 m of Stinson’s alleyways were cleaned
  • 80% of Carter Park, 100% of Bishops Park cleaned
  • 43 garbage bags, 18 yard waste bags and bulk items collected
  • Suzanne Brown, Manager, Neighbourhood Development Strategies
  • Work on Claremont Access bridge has been delayed for 1 year to 2015.
  • Mural and basketball court renovations will continue as planned.
  • City will assign a city manager to manage city’s involvement with SCIP Committee’s .
  • Update on home reno program, 20 people have been brought on board to be trained.

#8. Neighbourhood Implementation Committee Updates

  • Elisabeth gave update,
  • Stinson Lofts parkette will continue to be a children’s park.
  • It will be landscaped, new fences installed and new play equipment .
  • SCA will adopt the parkette for a 3 year commitment and assume responsibility.
  • History group meeting on May 16, will elect a new chair and confirm vision.
  • Alley cats group will meet on May 23rd with Phil Homerski from Public Works
