EGGSTRA, EGGSTRA
It began as an idea, with only a handful of volunteers and 5,000 chocolate foil eggs. What happens next you will never believe. Reads like something you’d see on Facebook, doesn’t it? Yet last Spring that is exactly how it began. An idea was blurted-out at one of our Stinson Community Association general meetings. A few eyebrows were raised along with a show of hands willing to volunteer and the the wheels began turning.
~ Fast Forward~
The sun shone on Carter Park that afternoon as the volunteers gathered to give the park a good cleaning and setup for our 1st ever Stinson Easter Egg Hunt. It didn’t take long for the park to fill up as anticipation grew on all those little excited faces. The Easter bunny presented gifts while our Ward 2 Councillor, Jason Farr, joined us along with his “mini-me”, in tow.
The actual hunt lasted 2 whole minutes, but the memories of the many participating families will always include Stinson and Carter Park. Also, the experience and pride the volunteers took away with them was priceless.
