I am writing on behalf of the Participatory Budgeting Ward 2 Transition Team. We are reaching out to you to thank you for your support of PB in 2013, and to encourage you to feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns about the PBW2 process. We are now at a critical juncture in the Budgeting Process, which requires that the Assembly Organizers of each of the ward assemblies elect their new Assembly Organizers, Deputy Assembly Organizers, Liaisons, Governance Committee Members, and Planning Committee Members. The Transition Team, through its joint power to function as the Facilitator of PBW2, is currently entrusted with the tasks of getting these Annual General Meetings convened, quorum (minimum ten registered assembly members) achieved, the PBW2 elections complete, and the new Organizing Teams trained and prepared to take on their first task: the election of the new full time Facilitator.
Although a few dates have been put forward by various contributors to this transition, I am recommending that Assembly Organizers adopt the Transition Team’s harmonized approach and convene their AGMs on Thursday, October 3rd, 2013 (excepting those assemblies who have already pre-arranged AGM dates through the Chair of the Transition Team prior to Sunday, September 8th, 2013). The TT will assist in arranging
room bookings with the Assembly Organizers. Be advised that it is at the discretion of the AOs as to whether to schedule and hold their AGM/Elections on or before this date. Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter.
